Écrire dit-on
We are pleased to announce that a new writing in French book is in the works. This book will provide students the opportunity to reflect on big ideas while expressing their thoughts in French.
Prescient
Thank you to all the students and professors who completed our recent survey. We appreciate your feedback and are pleased that so many of you felt that Le Creuset des savoirs relates directly to the times we are living. Civic engagement, questioning neoliberalism, Cyrulnik on resilience, Hulot’s pact for the environment, and Homo Toxicus were listed as the most impactful. We agree that these activities and texts become even more prescient when living through the COVID-19 pandemic and a global climate crisis. Thanks for your feedback!

Le Creuset des savoirs
Le Creuset des savoirs is for students at the fourth or fifth level of college or high school French. The textbook combines critical thinking with thought-provoking communicative activities. There are six reading-based chapters that guide students through a process of analytical thinking as they reflect on the content and style of texts (fiction and non-fiction). There are also three writing-based chapters that guide students through a process-oriented approach to writing a French dissertation, essai critique and récit. Innovative, performance-based lesson plans (en classe) are included for each of the 42 units of the book. These lesson plans give ample opportunities to create dynamic interactions between students while customizing the classroom experience to various teaching and learning styles. View sample pages.
